Allele Inc. Files Patent Application for Gradient Lateral Flow Assay Devices

On August 11, 2022, Allele Inc. submitted a provisional patent application to the United States Patent and Trademark Office under the title “Lateral Flow Assay Device with Gradient Output”. Due to the provisional nature of the application, a filing receipt has been granted and, as is true for all similar patents, USPTO publication will be posted 18 months after the date of filing.

When determining gaps in the industry to research, Allele emphasizes patient outcomes, specifically, how detailed diagnostics can be made more accessible and have broader use cases. With regard to lateral flow assay devices, a gradient or continuous output had not been yet proposed to the USPTO prior to Allele’s filing. The motivation for inventing this device was to create a set of technologies that provide users (in this case, both patients and clinicians) with an inexpensive, effective device that could assay a plethora of analytes, and provide output that was not binary.

Allele Inc. looks forward to continuing this research and bettering patient outcomes through nanobiotechnology.
